
Two classmates from Ishigaki Island collaborated for the first time in their hometown [Kuramoto SAKE & GALLERY

Calligraphy artist Yoshitaka Shoranin is holding his first solo exhibition on his home island of Ishigaki.
Artworks created using a unique technique that causes colors to invert when viewed on a smartphone are also on display.
In addition, a live session with singer Makoto Iramane was held, attracting a large crowd.
Time Arrow Yaeyama Co., Ltd., a member of the Shimada Group, will hold held a calligraphy art exhibition titled “Fukurokuju” at “Kuramoto SAKE & GALLERY” on the first floor of “Ishigaki Island Hotel Kukuru” from Monday, January 19, 2026, through Monday, January 26, 2026. This exhibition marked the first solo show in his hometown for calligraphy artist Zenryu Shoronin, a native of Ishigaki Island.
In addition, on Friday, January 23, he held a collaborative event titled “Art & Music Session” with Makoto Iramina, a classmate from his hometown. Advance reservations exceeded 40, and including walk-ins, approximately 60 people attended. The venue was filled to capacity.

■ Yoshitaka Shoronin
A calligraphy artist who goes by the pen name “Shonin” and wields the brush. He began studying calligraphy at a young age, majored in art and design in college, and has been exploring its fusion with contemporary art.
He holds solo exhibitions and engages in corporate collaborations both in Japan and abroad, sharing the energy of ink through live calligraphy performances and workshops.

■ Makoto Iragami
CEO of Goya Company. Developer of “Shimabuta Gokoro.” He is an entrepreneur who works as a specialist in food safety—including HACCP—while also pursuing a career as a singer. After serving as a rehearsal vocalist for Keisuke Kuwata (of Southern All Stars), he struck out on his own.
Even after returning to his hometown, he has continued to contribute to regional development through music.
